Thats the 4th city I visit efficiently with this great app. Really worth the price. Positioning onto offline map could be improved. The rest is just the perfect between detailed info and efficient planning of visits.
Nice app to explore venice. However, few things could be added:
- public transport maps / stations.
- public toilets
- general information / history.
Simply awesome if youre going to Venice, or any city they have these for. I use it several times every day.
I travel quite a bit & this is by far the best planning tool for mapping out itineraries. My only complaint is that they dont have more cities, it would save me from buying multiple apps when I go to a city they dont have.
This really helped when exploring the many inner canals and streets of Venice or when you find an obscure shop that you want to go back but have no idea where you are! Not anymore!
Some bad moments
Excellent content. Excellent list of attractions, restaurants, etc. The automated itinerary is very nice and it is easy to add or remove attractions from the list for a custom travel plan. The ability to download other users shared places and reviews will certainly make this one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date travel guides available. Probably the best guide Ive ever used. Thanks!
my friend and i just used the guide over the long weekend. it was perfect for organizing our trip on the fly. i thought the guide would just be a directory of tourist attractions but it actually helped us organize everything. each day was so well planned out and the mtrip genius was spot on with suggestions. i especially thought it was interesting that i could update the guide with my own suggestions and photos as well as see what other travelers were adding. its great to be able to get another travelers perspective. what was also helpful was the offline direcitons. i generally get lost, even with a map but i found my way around venice a lot easier this way! i am for sure using another mtrip guide on my next big trips.
This app was very useful for my week-long trip to Venice. I had already booked a hotel prior to purchasing this app and had no time to create an itinerary before my departure. The my itinerary feature helped me create a general one in a matter of minutes on my flight over to Venice. It also tells you how far a place is from your hotel. Its a good app to help you get organized and become familiar with the general area of Venice.
A truly wonderful app! This interactive app takes the place of a tour guide. Starting from your hotel location you can map out your whole itinerary. At any time If changes need to be made its also quick and easy. The only addition I would like to see would be a zoom in map.
Bought this guide on first day of 5 day trip to Venice in Jan. 2011.
Maps - Venice is very confusing and the map is of little help. Not much details - most paper maps are way more useful. This was most disappointing part of app.
Info on attractions - A scant paragraph on even the top attractions.
Custom planner - We didnt really use even though this is probably the apps biggest selling point.
Comments - Most disappointed about map. Woefully detail-poor making it useless for street/canal navigation. Instead, we (regrettably) used paper maps. Our DK guide book, was far more useful in info, navigation, etc. even though it weighs a kilo. Also, found Rick Steves free, downloadable podcasts much more informational and enjoyable.
This is a must have app. It saved me soooo much time and effort and only $6!
